This course is an introduction to conflict resolution and classroom management for English language teachers (ELT). Students will study strategies and techniques for conflict resolution and classroom management, dynamics of an English as a Second Language (ESL) classroom, analyze student needs, and express effective communication. This course is designed as an introduction to the strategies associated with conflict resolution and classroom management in an ESL classroom environment. Additional information includes uncovering unconscious biases, supporting online learning environments, and identifying Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Students will fulfill learning requirements by reviewing the content, completing open-book quizzes, developing self-reflection journal entries, analyzing case study scenarios, and consolidating knowledge through a final open-book exam.
